Annual town reports

Presented by the town mayor at the Annual Town Meeting, the annual town report is a written summary of the events of the preceding year.

Annual returns

Local councils are required to have good processes and financial records. Local councils use an audit document known at the ‘AGAR’ (Annual Governance and Accountability Return). It is checked by an independent, external auditor who sometimes suggests improvements.

Parking accounts

The Local Government Transparency Code 2015 requires Hythe Town Council to publish certain details relating to paid parking.

Council land and buildings

Hythe Town Council owns land and buildings in the town. Click on the heading to find out more. 

Budgets

The precept is the annual amount of tax charged on each residential property in the town to fund the activities and services provided by the town council. The council does not receive any of the business rates paid by shops and businesses in the town.
