In the event of the death of a senior national figure or local holder of high office then certain actions will need to take place in a short space of time. Hythe Town councillors and officers need to be prepared and rehearsed should such an event take place. This protocol outlines the requirements, people involved and sequence of actions that will be required.
This protocol has been prepared to provide general guidance for incoming town mayors and deputy mayors on their roles and procedures when undertaking approved town council and civic functions, and attending meetings of full council.
The council has policies to guide staff and councillors to ensure that personal data is kept secure. However should there be a data breach, we will record it using this template. By using the template we will be able to identify how the mistake was made and make any necessary process improvements. Although this template is based on good practice, it is still in draft form, and council may resolve to make changes to it.
